Played the Centurion Club on Saturday and St Anne's Old Links on Sunday and both were preferred lie (pick & clean) on the fairways.

Is your course now operating to winter rules, whether fully or in part?

Nope, and they are not needed yet. Played the PGA sat after loads of rain and during rain and didn't get a single mud ball, the fairways are still running aswell. There are never temp tees and we don't even have temp greens... The course is in great condition all year round Also.

I thought you said a little while back that the PGA was looking a bit scruffy lately, or words to that effect.

Even so, on links courses that drain well, its still good practice to protect them if their wet from poorly driven buggies and heavy trolleys or rope areas so buggies & trolleys go down the sides.

I think you have got the wrong person mate, I believe the PGA is one of the most maintained courses in the area.

I had a look at Sutton Coldfield CG the other day who have subs of £2000 with joining fee. The course was shocking. More like a muni and the bunker I looked in was a mud pit full of stones. We where going to play it but sod that from what we seen.

Most people who I know from the Belfry go and play other courses in the area and always come back saying we are spoilt with our course conditions.

That was in reference to the old and new owners, I never played it when the old owners where there but I've heard story's of the condition they left it in. Now the Derby and PGA are both kept to great standards with the new owners and since I've been there.

We normally start on Nov 1st unless conditions determine it should be earlier.
It was ok on Friday, no real mud-balls but I suspect after today, tomorrow and wednesday, we'll be on WR on Friday..
