Winter Rates - NW/NE - Top courses

Looking at visiting a couple of top courses in maybe mid-late March as part of my 20+20 birthday celebrations. Had a quick look at Woodhall and get on for between £40-£70 dependant on the course and noticed Formby do a day rate in March for £240 per fourball.

Do other others come up every now and then on twitter etc or has anyone had any decent rates by ringing them or is it a case of checking club sites and that's the rate.

Might book a travelodge and play 2 course's within drivable distance between each.

Yes played Slaley a couple of years ago.

Thinking maybe Formby, Hillside, Woodhall but maybe not £100pp rate.

Silloth would get my recommendation for sure at that time of the year as long as it's not too windy!

I don't think you could go far wrong with Goswick on the east coast either and they have a winter rate of £110 per fourball including a breakfast sandwich. Not sure when their winter ends but I'm imagine March would still count.

Have you considered Slaley Hall?

Horribly wet in the winter. Alnmouth, Foxton Hall drains well. The winter green fee with a member is £7.50 so I would imagine the full fee won't be much. Played there last week, all the greens & tees, bar one, we're on & preferred lies on the fairways. Really enjoyable.
