Whilst I don't particularly like playing on a winter mat, I have started a Saturday morning game where I will be using one more regularly.
My only problem is that I can't seem to find a decent quality mat anywhere, including through online searches.

Does anyone have any ideas where I can order a decent mat (firm base, not the flimsy ones that you get for a few quid)?

Cheers

I hate the mats. Waste of time. I just do the other option and take my ball into the rough and drop it there. I generally seem to hit the mat further than the ball, when I use a mat.

Pretty sure the Scottish contingent can help as this seems predominant up there. Would you want anything too firm (and heavy) if you are carrying it around all the time

Prefer a slightly heavier mat tbh. I'm actually in Scotland, but struggling to find something decent.
It's only a mat approx 1.5 ft x 8 inches or so, so it won't be too much of a struggle to carry.

I do tend to do that, but closet to the green it's a disadvantage, plus I need to use a mat for teeing off on par threes.

We have them in use at my club, not sure the brand/name but mine has a fold out handle to which I have attached a climbers caribiner for quick click attachment to my bag. First time I have used them this year-how common are they?

I do this too, (don't play comps in winter). I actually used to hit the ball quite well off mats, but when it came to playing off the fairway late March time I would chunk every shot!

If everyone drops from the fairway into the rough, come March/April, if per chance you miss a fairway by a yard or so, more than likely you will be in a divot . Which has been made by someone who hits the same FORUM distance as you.

We have a sort of astro turf wedge with a strap attached. The clubs buys them and you just help yourself to one when you go out.

Do you have to buy your own ?
