Playing in a winter league at my home course. A stableford every week and you have to return one card and the scores are calculated and your giving a score for the place you came. Every Monday starts the new week.. all week they have had the normal greens on and today when I come to play to Do my card for the week every green was a winter green as they are fertilizing the normal greens! Just wondering what people's thoughts on this was as I feel I have been at a slight disadvantage to everyone else as they had normal greens and I had winter greens ( fairway) I know courses need to do this but just wanted to see what people thought about it!

I call winter greens an advantage. Much shorter course .

Same length.. most winter greens are about 20-30 yards either side of the normal greens.. the winter greens are tiny.. can't get the ball to stop on them as they are cut like the fairway.. ball just bobbles and bounces all over the green as you putt

Playing winter league last year put me off winter golf for good.

Having to go out when you know it's freezing and going to p1ss down does not make for a fun afternoon. Don't buy all that "it's good just to get out" nonsense, it's not.

Mind you, last year it pretty much belted it down every Saturday from November to January!

Would much rather pick & choose when/where I play in winter.

Only play winter league when its full greens , we have a team event every yr , i dont play in it anymore as its not fair to other if ya dont turn up .. Today woulda bn no fun on the course , fog & frozen temp greens ..

Bandits paradise in our place but that my friends is a whole different story :(

Yeah I know courses have to do this.. the normal greens will be back on soon as they are immaculate. Only thing that is bugging me is everyone that played Monday-Saturday got normal greens and today I got winter greens!

devils advocate time, if they had been on temps all week would you have been wanting them on temps today so it was a level playing field or back on greens if possible?
