Does you're club run one ? Ours this year is a 4bbb individual best 4 scores, and you can switch partners..

We've just started ours.
Stableford, full handicap off the yellows, best 5 cards from a maximum of 20 between
In divisions too.

Ive been in one and loved it. IIRC it was a team league where each week you sent out a team in three formats. Two singles matches, one foursomes and one fourball vs another team.

Points for a win plus the difference between teams (3 point for each win, 1 for a draw, most points wins). 12 points for a walkover. Cracking format and made for a very fun league.

I usually played in the singles as I was one of the teams better players and I went the winter undefeated, even holding the club captain to a half!

Ours is 4BBB matchplay, 3/4 handicap.

5 leagues of 8 teams, play each team in your league twice then top two in each league plus 4 best runners up go through to KO.

A lot of matches and it ensures I keep playing through the darker months, we have no qualifiers from Oct through to end of March.

Won ours a couple years back

We have 8 groups of 5 then into KO

4 BBB Matchplay of the yellows

Is treated very seriously by some

Yeah its a stableford so many best scores over the winter and a monthly prize for best score ,i don't bother with it as its full of guys who are at the Ronan Keating. We have our own eclectic and stableford amongst our lads theres 19 playing this year,£10 entry for both comps and £120 to the winner in each comp. great banter with emails on a monday ripping everyone whose had a mare. Althought the banter is top class its taken serious.

Two weeks into ours. They have a new format this year, full handicap, each week 15 points for winning, 10 for second down to 1 point for eighth. If cat 4 player wins one week he loses 4 shots, cat 3 loses 3 shots etc. You also get a joker to play in one week and any points you get that week are doubled.

Being my first was quite looking forward to it, but after reading some of these formats doesn't sound like much thought has gone into ours.. be having a word with the pro tomorrow me thinks...

I'm organizing this years competition at my club. I've scheduled 5 qualifying weeks and a finals day to fit around other club comps. Previous years have been mini leagues then a knock out, but I fancied trying something different. 32 teams playing 4BBB matchplay, after the qualifying the top 8 will play for the prize pot, 1st v 2nd, 3rd v 4th, 5th v 6th and 7th v 8th.

If the members don't like the format, I'll find out soon enough and will look at something for next year

Ours is full h/c stableford, play anytime with best 4 scores counting up till Xmas, won it twice in recent years, only downside is its non quilifing, don't know why but seem to play better in winter comp. played Monday and had my best score this year, 86 off 18h/c for 39 points. Shame it's non quilifing as I would have got a cut.

Yup, ours started at the weekend. Pairs comp, with 3 round of 4BBB, and 3 rounds of foursomes. All stableford points. Only the best 2 from each format count and points tally up in a league. It is normally used to help pick club teams for the following year

Ours started a few weeks ago. Pairs 18 holes mini leagues, top 2 go through to knockout rounds. Singles 9 holes top 4 to knock out. Matchplay but with holes win counting like goals. So my first match was a 3-3 draw, lost next 5-3.

Yup we have several leagues run on Sat morn, Sat aft and Sunday morn. Usually a Blue and a Red league.

I'm in the Sunday blue which is 4bbb matchplay on 3/4 the difference handicaps. 16 teams in each league, so play each other once. The final week we match up Blue League vs Red League and play each other.
