My playing partner and I played our 3rd match today. Temp greens due to hard frost, other wise a lovely day for it. So far in this comp we have won one and halved one. Todays match was nip and tuck all the way. We went from two up to two down. It was all level coming down the last. Would you believe that one of the oppo chipped in onto the temp green which had been a lottery all round.Bit hacked off at losing like that but never mind. The new DI 9s seemed to coming on well.Just need a few more rounds on the course with them

Can't legislate for that. I remember in a winter league at Wimbledon Common years ago a guy holed a twenty footer on a frosty green that bounced an bobbled all over the shop before going in. If the hole hadn't been there it would have been 10 feet past. we lost that match and the qualifying spot had to be decided on countback on winning margins against the other group members. We went out because we only won a match 5&4 and they had won it 6&5.

Gutted as I'm pretty sure that would have been our year. My partner was off 26 but was getting use to just using his shots and would often nick holes with a net par.

I never mind that sort of thing happening in a match so long as the player or players are playing well most of the round, it drives me mad if people do it playing crap golf. :)

Well that is typical matchplay, just when you think your going to half a hole or even win it something like that crops up.
