Winter deals in Ireland

I actually had a look at this as a mate of mine is coming over to visit me (i live in dublin).

European Club €100, but some strange booking t&c's. East of Ireland matchplay, if you have a handicap and are gonna be around before mid november, you can play for €60.
Mount Juliet €80 morning price.
Druids Glen last years winter rate was €90
Island Course last winters rate was €70 so expect something similar, they have a strange lift and place at side of fairway winter rule though
Carlton House €75 early bird, these are summer rates though, winter rates kick in on 1st november, not announced yet.
County Louth €125, no winter rate up, may go up
Headfort new €45 weekday winter rate
Palmerstown House €80, €90 including breakfast, €100 including 2 course lunch
Royal Dublin €125 special early bird, €175 normal.

Have a look around, Mount Juliet, K Club smurfit, rathsallagh, Glasson all have open and team events that any home union member is welcome to play at crazy reduced prices

hurler where do you normally play? I'm a member at hollystown, wasn't sure if there were any local lads on the forum.

Hey billser,

Im actually playing out of slievenamon, in Tipperary, but purely for handicap purposes, as Im originally from cork and would like to move back there soon, and couldnt face paying a big signing on fee.

Also most of my golf buddies are from clubs all over the place, so joining somewhere like hollystown wouldnt be of much benefit as i wouldnt have a 'crew' to play my sunday medal/stableford with.

When playing in dublin, i play mostly in stackstown, as its accessable, and they are a really friendly club (and where the current best golfer in the world learned his trade, so it cant be half bad), and i used to get out every tuesday evening after work for 20 euro including a buggy to squeeze 18 in.

Mostly i try to play the open and scratch cup circuit, have played a fair few team events, and generally keep my eye out for some of the bigger courses having days. this summer alone iv played, druids heath, druids glen (won in the heath comp), mount juliet, k club twice, fota island, waterville, and i have the european, glasson and another round in mount juliet coming up soon.

Do you play 'the circuit' much?

Hurler

I've played most of the clubs around here, luttrelstown castle has to be up there with the best of them.

played carton hse, mount juliet a couple of times but not managed the k club yet (bit expensive but i will when i get someone to play there with!)
only got my gui this year so a bit of a novice on the open circuit.
played castleknock open couple of weeks ago, good course but luttrelstown next door is more mature & better in my opinion.

druids glen is on the list as well, do they have open there regular?
