What would your club do. Just award the trophy? I guess mine would.

I ask as the thought occurred to me as I'm in semi of our Winter K/O and whichever of us wins it could be playing someone who (other than 1st round) has, through coincidence and for a whole variety of reasons, had byes all the way to the final.

That's a joke of organisation if someone wins a KO without playing a game - poor management of the comp. Would never happen at ours

Wow ... does the variety of reasons include he is a member of the mob?

Not sure how this would be handled at our but would sure be up for some ribbing

I'm not sure that the club can do much about it. If folk enter a comp but then for whatever reason can't play the match and concede - what can the club do? And if coincidence upon coincidence the same thing happens 4 times in a row. Well there could well be someone in the final whose only previous match was the 1st round. Hopefully I'll get to the final and if it is he I have to play then I'll make darned sure I win - I'd hold some resentment if I lost :)

What would you do or should I say what would the club do to stop it from happening, do you have a rule already in place or would you just make it up as you went along ?

Pal of mine won his society doubles by playing the one game in the final. Suffice to say he recieved enough Micky taking to last a lifetime.
