Hi all

I'm in a rented house and one of the bathroom window handles is beginning to break, so I'd like to replace it.

From spending a while looking into it tonight I need a white, right handed, Cockspur style handle..... That bit I'm comfortable with. But the sizing and "backing style" confuses me. It seems to have a 27.5mm base plate.

I've taken a photo with a rule under the handle to get a gauge on size. Can someone who's competent at this kind of thing help or point me in the right direction?

I'm not the practical sort!

Cheers, Adam

They sell them at B&Q or Wickes, although they may look slighty different. Take the old one down with you as a reference, should cost less than a tenner.

They look exactly like mine fitted nearly 30 years ago.

The window company that supplied them said if I break any more they no longer stock them and gave me the last 3 they had in stock.

Like said above it’s obviously a really old window.
Can’t see anyone using them anymore so you might struggle.

You can get these handles or equivalent from any double glazing parts suppliers, but the critical thing is what they call the backset.
Backset is the measurement from the base of the handle(the bit that screws to the window) to the underside of the snib (the piece that pulls the sash in when you close it).
Try this link for a more in-depth explanation/pictures https://www.duffells.com/versa-locking-cockspur-window-handle.html.
These handles come with various spacers to enable different backsets
