played in a medal yesterday and it was really windy out on the course.

I found it strange that i was aiming left or right to compensate for the wind yet it never made a difference to the ball flight.

1 hole that stood out was our 185 yard par 3, strong wind going from right to left so i aim out right and the ball just stayed straight!!

does anyone else find this??

Yep, definitely not easy. Some balls appear to go with the wind and some stay arrow straight.

As above I think when you hit perfectly the backspin holds it fairly straight. If you spin against the wind it'll hold it straight. If you spin it with the wind it goes miles wide and we curse our bad luck!

From 185 I'm hitting a 4 iron or my 3h, if I hit them well I wouldn't expect the wind to have much effect.

If I'm hitting anything below a 7i I would expect it to go with the wind as it lost speed and started to drop.

The eighteenth at ours was a pain today. Approach tee box good strong wind behind so swap to 8i, in tee box wind changes to opposite direction change back to 7i, then see that the flag is now not moving yet I still have a strong head wind!! Anyway duffed it into the rough, so no it made no difference to my game at all!
