Wilson FG Tour (2014 version)

Just got a sleeve of these (the new ones for this year), and wondered what I should expect from them. Anybody use these new ones that can give me an comparison to other balls?

Never felt the love for Wilson balls so would be interested to see the comments on here. The FG Tour are much cheaper than many top end models and so if they perform well it has to be worth a look

Wilsons equivalent to the prov1, I found it a little too spiny, then again I find the prov the same.

Give me a dx3 anyday

I started a thread couple of days back about finding me a new ball, of all the replies, the Wilson FG tour seemed to stand out, so I purchased some and have been using them this week.

I like them, like them a lot, nice feel off the driver, plenty spin around the green and they feel nice off the putter face. Not hard like a china ball, Pinnacle or Top Flite, but not soft as putty either.

Definitely improved from the original ball which was like hitting a marshmallow. Now it performs like a premium ball. Like all these things, comes down to personal choice.

Played with one today, can't comment on green control as I was pretty poor at striking today, but the feel is nice (maybe a tad softer than a ZStar) the durability was excellent, with no marks on the ball at the end (even after a brush with a tree). Distance was unaffected by the wind (and my swing)

Will return to these when the weather is nicer to get a proper feel for them, but so far happy to recommended, certainly nothing bad I can say about them at the moment.
