I am not sure if this has already been discussed but if not what do you think?

Considering this has happened to him before I think he will return just as good

There is no doubt he won't return until he is 100% confident he can tee it up and win. He is still young so there is no issue with age for him to break Nicklaus's major records.

I think he will have learnt the lessons about returning too soon and will be putting the hours in at the gym and especially on the range. I bet he has been working on the putting and chipping as the leg has improved so that fantastic short game will be even better.

There will a huge amount of hype on his return and I wouldn't be surprised if it does take the edge of his game at least in the first round but I think the Woods steely resolve will want to send a message to Garcia, Mickleson, Kim et al that he is back bigger, better and more hungry than ever

If his knee isn't 100% right then he'll find a way to hit his shots while compensating for it.

After all, that's how he won the US Open last year.

No, he won't. He's learned that lesson as well, he won't come back unless he's 100%, no matter how much his sponsors try to push him, which I'm sure they are.

Has he learned his lesson... For now maybe, but after all he is still human... well we can hope so.

Its really interesting listening to those in the media & the opinions of comentators on Golf night etc. One actually seemed to think that Tiger wouldn't simply come back as good as he was before but better.

The biggest problem or effect of Tiger is not so much his amazing ability but more to the point its the psycological effect he has on the rest of the field wherever he plays.

As I say he is only human & regardless of the psycological effect which will enable him to win easily. I really don't think he will really be right on top of his game straight away.

He will be a better player for it I am sure. As much as I try to dislike Tiger I cant wait for his return!

I have to agree with Homers post. And as Tony said I also try not to like him, I always go for the underdog, however, it will be great to see Tiger return and show the others how to play this game.

Just been on sky sports news

Tiger is now hitting long irons and Driver but not swinging as hard as he can.

Says his knee is holding up well and he is looking forward to returning to the PGA tour, although he has not set a date.

I reckon he has been sitting at home eating tubes of Pringles, swigging loads of Budweisers and playing on the X-box 360. He will come out looking like a barrage balloon....

(that's what I would have done)
:o :o :o :o

My guess is he will come back ripped with muscle (as ever), and ready to play. Inevitably he will be rusty, and the Masters (should he make it) will be a dsaster, but I think he will come back roughly where he left off. I can't he why he will be better, but if he doesn't rush things, I can't see why he will be worse.

If his knee is 100% then it will be same old, same old.

Lets not forget that it was his knee.

He doesn't carry his own bag so that ain't ganna be a problem.

Mentally he will be as sharp.
His alignment and ball striking will be the same.

Do you think he will come back without having hit balls? He WILL know when it is time.

When he does, he will be in the mix.
If it had been a shoulder or back injury then maybe but it wasn't.

I also try not to like him but he adds something extra and the pro's will be elated because the prize funds will be fairly well protected.

When he came out last year at the Buick and won he looked fantastic bad knee or not.

He is the main player the reason everyone else has the chance to get those handsome paychecks

He will be back better than ever with years of game its going to be good to see him

I am sure Tiger will come back fit physically but it depends how much golf practice he has missed as to how it will affect his game, if his injury has prevented him getting his game in shape until he is 100% fit then this could have an effect, but we will have to see, maybe he will come back at the top of his game maybe he will need half a seson of match play to get into it, we'll have to see.

Of course he won't. He has a knew knee now :D ;) :p

In all seriousness though I agree with those who argued that he will not return until at a winning standard with his play, meaning when we see him it will be the Tiger of old in terms of performance.
