Will Tiger be at the Masters this year?

Nope. Well...not competing.

He'll be at the champions dinner though

Even if he is, hell no doubt withdraw if he's struggling so why bother.

I would rather see that place going to an up and comer who's been busting their back side to earn it!

I don't think he ever had a realistic chance of making it.
Sounds like he's listening to his medical team for once.
He's better off missing the whole year and coming back properly in 2017.

As Tiger isn't competing, it won't go a 'first reserve' or similar. There is qualifying criteria for The Masters. Think it is already the smallest field in a number of years though

Id love to see tiger make a return growing up he was my golf idle the tours just not the same without him .but it's a big ask to come back once again and compete at that level especially with his medical problems ect .

And that for me is why should not be a major - it's too exclusive to current golfers whilst letting people who won it 40 years ago in it

He's out! Announced that he is not ready to play yet.

So now we can all concetrate on the tournament and forget the circus that would have been created around him showing up and failing miserably

I wouldn't bank on that. He might be spectating which means that we will get endless close-ups of his reactions.

Hardly a surprise is it? I do fear that we'll never see him back playing competitively and I'm certain he'll never win another major. I hope I'm wrong and that he really takes time to get 100% fit or as close as he can these days, and can get back and be in contention
