Played in a Medal this morning and was going along nicely, having shot 43 for the front 9 and then 5's at each of the 10th, 11th and 12th. Then, on the 13th, I proceeded to hit my approach to the green into a bunker. Took 5 (yes FIVE!) shots to get out of the sand and carded a 10!! Recovered the situation and shot level 5's for the rest of the round for a back nine total of 50. So, 93 less 23 for a nett 71. The CSS is usually 69 and one of the guys in my group reckoned that despite my 10 at the 13th, I could still get cut as it would be rounded down to a nett double bogey for handicap purposes.

On the one hand, am delighted to have made the buffer zone despite having a 10 on the card, but on the other, what might have been..............

Should that not be less 22 Del....As per your Sig?
I might be wrong but i do think that they round bad holes off to nett doubles....

Stroke index 8, Bob. I figured it certainly wouldn't be any more than 0.4, but that would take me to a playing handicap of 21, from 22. :)

If its S.I. 8, then a nett d.bogey will be an 8 for you so I'm guessing you may finish on 69, bang on h/cap
Get a bunker lesson :)

Now I'm confused. It's a Par 4, SI 8, so how would a nett double bogey be 8? Sorry if I'm being stupid, but I'm new to all this CSS stuff. :D

Sorry, thought it was a par 5.
In that case you could very well be off 21 now :)

Hope you're right Bob. I'd even thought about phoning the handicap secretary, just to make sure he doesn't accidentally gloss over it! ;)

Going for a hat trick of cuts next week delb.

Congratulations mate, keep it up. By this time next year that fin may be reduced to dolphin sized!!!!!

Here's my card from today. Was really pleased with my consistency, apart from the aberration on the 13th!! Felt really relaxed and confident and pleased that I managed to settle the ship again after the 13th too.
