Has anybody played at Widney Manor GC - Solihull, Birmingham?

Possibly looking to play there this weekend. Saw an offer in the paper of £18 + free pie and chip if you play before 4:00. I searched the review section but nothing on there.

I know there are a few Birmingham lads on here that may have played it. If so, what did you think?

Not played it myself but when we were looking for a game earlier this year when ours was booked out we were discussing various courses and widney manor was quickly dismissed as some of the guys has played and didn't rate it at all, from memory it was the poor condition it was in that was the issue.
That was several months ago now so may have improved

Heard a bit of cash had been spent on it. I've read some reviews and they sound pretty good. Can't be any worse than my round last weekend at Cocks Moor Woods (lets just leave it at that ;) )

I played it (last millennium)...

oddly, the only things I can remember are.

1) it was new and a bit rough (that should be irrelevant now)
and
2) I was told not to smoke on the bit built on a landfill site.

I am selling it to you, I can tell!

It was OK, must have been a reason for playing there instead of Pype Hayes, Lickeys or Cocks Moor.

oh... I'm sure it was "straightforward" too.

I played there a couple of years ago. Pretty dull course. The only thing I remember about it was the constant drone of traffic from the M42 that runs next to it. I can't comment on the general condition because it was hammering down with rain. Still, for £18 including food it's worth a look.

Was looking for somewhere different to play this weekend as mainly stick to the Mytime courses in the area with their prices being pretty good.

Played Harborne Church Farm for the first time in a few years a couple of weekends ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it!!
