I'm changing my car shortly and one of the options out there is the ability to create a Wi-Fi hotspot in my car. Does anyone do this already? Does it work well? Is there any point to it?

I think I would need to buy a data only SIM. How much data do you need realistically?

Clearly I'm a novice to this but I'll have the car for three years and I'm trying to cover eventualities that I haven't necessarily thought of before.

it's a gimmick . you can turn your phone into a hot spot if you want

Its a bit late tech wise, most techy people have a walking hotspot in their pocket, some without knowing it.

It does depend on your mobile provider to some degree, IIRC. I tether my tablet to my phone when out and about with both.

And it costs a fortune compared to accessing the t'interweb via wifi.
