Just browsing EvilBay looking at 'nearly new' clubs (Ping but sure it applies all round) and was surprised at the amount of kit for sale where the head-cover has gone missing.

If the ratio of with / without where extrapolated we'd be knee deep down most fairways!

Have I just got unlucky and viewed an atypical selection or is there something darker behind this that I, as a simple country boy, am naive to?

Does seem strange although I guess if the buyer is replacing the club on sale with another from ebay and that doesn't have a cover either he'd keep it for the new club when it arrives and wouldn't offer it.

Maybe they think selling the club without a headcover won't reduce the price by as much as if they sell the headcover separately?

I always notice this, what do people do with them, I always assumed everyone else was just really really forgetful and lose them lol

Or they sell each separately because they seem to be charging £25+ for a headcover nowadays and also seem to still want strong money for the clubs too

When I had Ping G10s the covers were so loose they fell off every couple of holes so would not be surprised if people had lost them

i know a fella who 'cant be arsed' taking them off and putting them on, he throws them in a box in the garage... hes a 500 quid scotty with no head cover. my £149 scotty is dried cleaned and gently put back in the cover everytime lol

Probably a lot have their own headcovers and throw the stock one in a corner somewhere then can't find it when it comes to sale time
