that when I am striping my driver and hitting all fairways straight down the middle the rest of my game feels like it goes to pants. Plus side was it was glorious out there from just after 8 and not like now as it's raining.

I've always wondered how I could score if my whole game went well.

At last year's scratch cup I had two contrasting rounds:
round 1 - great short game, no long game - 78
round 2 - great long game,no short game - 76

I once hit 16 greens in regulation during a round of golf. Walked off the course 4 over par! Didn't make one birdie, three putted twice and failed to get up and down on the two greens that I missed. Funny old game.

Played twice last week.. First round played like a beginner from tee to green, but putted the lights out - 79
Second round played brilliantly from tee to green but couldn't hole anything above 3 feet - 81..

Stupid game..............

I've posted before..
A couple of years back, on consecutive days, i shot gross 74 (+4)
Day 1 was all fairways and no greens, day 2 was all greens and no fairways.....

Unless your very good at golf and have an ideal swing. You more than likely won't. You're only supposed to change your set up when changing from irons to woods. (Your supposed to hit down with irons and up with woods, that cannot be done with the same swing)

Not very good at golf as still a relative newbie to it imo however my Pro is still teaching me one set up for all clubs apart from the putter.

It's the golfing gods balancing the books. They giveth with one hand and taketh away with the other. Rarely does every facet of the game fall into perfect alignment. I guess you could argue if you are driving well it is easier to score ok as there is less pressure on other parts.

Same reason you make more putts for par then you do for birdie , off the tee you just looking with the driver to just bomb it down the fairway , anywhere will do , with your irons you are looking to hit the target for one and get the distance right or to carry a bunker/pond , ditch or not hit it long or miss on one side ...................different shot ......................EYG
