Played today and the course is starting to look nice. Winds of last couple of days is drying course out lovely.
Played a couple of weeks ago and parred all par threes for first time ever. Next time I parred three and bogeyed last one. rest of round was average.
on our course we have 4 X par fives.
Today
1st par five with two shot, par for four points.
2nd par five with one shot, par for three points.
3rd par five SI one, two shots, bogey six for three points.
4th par five, last hole on course, one shot, Le BIRDIE FOR A MASSIVE FOUR POINTS. First of 2016, and ate me topic.

so for the par fives I scored a massive 14 points, but came off with 34 points and four flippin blobs. The seven iron that put the ball 12 ft from the pin on the 18th is the same one I knobbed twice on the tee shot to the 17th. Second time nearly taking pp head off.

if I can get my par threes and fives going on the same day, there gonna be casualtys. But at the mo. Flippin game.

The G30 was a beast.

Tash - couldn't agree more. Scored 41 points on sat, but on the 2 par 3's on the front 9, got a 5, and a 6 - one day, soon, it will all come together and there will be raising of eyebrows aplenty!

I feel winter is usually easier to score on - if the weather is calm and the greens are in good condition so the ball actually rolls rather than bobbles. The soft greens and slower running fairways certainly help my game. When the ball lands.. it stops.

Hopefully you can get some nice handicaps cuts come competition time :D

Last sentance oh how I am praying. Strange thing is my driving in the wind was just unbelievable. Through the the winter I have been playing with the ?calllaway cxr power don't know if it has made a difference but something is clicking.

lol giving someone six shots over four holes when they were level par - now THAT'S frustrating! :D ;)

Good scoring, though, consistency is the key - difficult to keep it going for 18 holes.

What did me head in a bit was I got excellent scores on four holes and four blobs, three in succession. 😳Two were playing into 30-40 mph wind but I hit my best ever drives on those holes. Grrr.

The frustrating bit at the moment is getting out and playing, on a course that's fit to be open and not the boggy quagmire mine is turning into. Mind you on a still summer day I can still find new and inventive ways of making it a frustrating past time

Well, being new to the game I can tell you why it is frustrating. Firstly, just when you sussed out what you were doing wrong, you try it again the following day and the corrections no longer work. Secondly, when you have a choice of two clubs to use for a given shot, you always choose the wrong one. Thirdly, you play crap all day, and then suss out what you have been doing wrong when you are on the 18th. Finally, you always top the ball when there is a water hazard in front of you.

Golf is frustrating because

a) the ball is way too small
b) the clubhead is way too small either, especially because it sits on the end of a shaft that is way too long
c) the hole is way too small as well and also it is much too far away
d) it happens outside, so wind, rain, hail, snow and other nastiness is going on
e) as if all that wasn't difficult enough, some dumbass invented sand bunkers and water hazards and decided that having them on the course would be good idea

But all that would be okay still. What makes it really really bad is that

f) there is always someone out there with you who despite of all the hardships mentioned above is able to play this game a whole lot better than yourself

It's not just frustrating. It is downright humbling.

Golf is frustrating because....

Most people think they should make less bad swings than Rory McIlroy. Onto a loser from the off.
