Ok, we've had a long hard week at work. Some of us have managed to fit in a few holes or a round during the week. The weather is always fine, dry, warm not too windy.

Today, Saturday, it is absolutely P ing down here in Edinburgh. Passed my club half an hour ago and I'm sure I saw someone on one of the fairways using a snorkel.

I'm due off early afternoon, but at this rate it will be unplayable.

Forecast says intermittent rain this morning and longer more prolonged showers some heavy this afternoon.

IT'S NOT FAIR !!!

I agree,

Yesterday it was sunny all day quite warm with a cool breeze but when i woke it was bouncing off the street.Am due out at 1 this afternoon

Hopefully the rain will go off.

Guys, you can still do ok, wet = shoot at flags, putting is easier too with slower greens. Just get prepared- spare towels, spare gloves, spare caps, swing smoothly and take extra club. Ball is also less likely to roll off fairway into rough with a hook or slice. I know it's not so much fun in the wet but if you're scoring well you'll enjoy.

Agreed, if you're prepared for it and willing to adapt it's ok. It's just not fair that it's always seems better during the week when we're caged up at work during the day!

I played last night and it was great conditions, consequently I played well and was optimistic about today, until I saw that rain at the back of 6 this morning.

Same weather in Perth and it doesn't take much for the greens at our club to start forming puddles!! Got round this morning in reasonable conditions.

At this rate though it looks like I'll get a long lie tomorrow!!

2 weeks today I'll be golfing in Costa Del Sol - bring it on

As someone who has 3 weeks off work, I can tell you it has rained most days here in Bristol, or else been cold and windy (sometimes everything at once). I don't think of myself as a fair-weather golfer but there are limits.
Re equipment, if you want to play in the rain, get 'wet gloves' as used by my Other Half. I think they are called 'Mac Wet' available from Glenmuir or possibly elsewhere. The worst thing about rain IMO is not getting a good grip on the club.
Cheers

Don't wish to gloat Marko but here in Northern Spain it was overcast but very warm. Got very windy on the last few holes and rain is expected later, but do I care? Golf is over for the weekend and work looms tomorrow.

3:15 Sunday afternoon and the cloud is rising above the hills. Its stopped drizzling now, oh and it's too late to go out and play golf. Ground will be like a soggy sponge I expect.
