Why does a bad round end like this...

Had a howler of a round, which is a shame given the Californian weather we were having. Was pushing everything, which when I compensated for was all ending up as a pull. Simple putts not going in, one even popped back... Just pants.

On the 17th P5, suddenly driver worked, followed by the most accurate hybrid and a approach with a 60 wedge, then rolled the 10 footer in for a birdie.!!!
18th P3 went into the green side bunker and then I get up and down!!

Spent 4 hrs searching for something, turns up on the 17th followed by magic on 18th... There is no justice in this game... Just when you want to throw the towel in, she gifts you something to hope for...

The human mind has ability dull bad or painful experiences. The golf addiction only requires 1 golf shot that is pure to satisfy.
Combine both of these and you'll always be back for more.

Agree.. maybe gluttony for punishment, but still want to get out there ....

plus trying to figure out WTF is TFG

I had a complete nightmare yesterday. 6 pars, 1 birdie and I shoot 96. So you can tell how the rest of the holes went. 25 over for 11 holes. Including 3 8's. I've been shooting 80-85 for the last year so no idea where a 96 came from.

Not always, sometimes enough is enough
For now it is, I knew a bloke who got to your handicap and was so desperate to get to singles he had a mental melt down. We did not see him for a couple of seasons and then out of the blue he reappeared. He realised he was just pressurising himself into hating the game. It's easy now to fall down this hole, especially with all the forum bragging about distance and scoring. The point is may be you should just have a break from here as well and just watch the World Cup or what ever else floats your boat. The game will draw you back in good time and the time away will make you realise it's for relaxation and pleasure ....

Wise words and mostly correct in my position, i got to 9.5 and my game slowly evaporated. However I do enjoy the craic on the Forum and will continue to do so, I can still learn albeit vicariously from the 300+ yard drivers and the 260 yard 4 ironers.

I have had a few that just keep you from snaping the clubs at the end of the round.

Last year I had a couple which were about as bad as I have ever played only to end in birdies both times.
