In response to another thread, why are you NOT a Woods fan?

haha I was thinking of doing this myself

Simples, he's stuck up his own backside,is boring at interviews, throws hissy fits (and his clubs)when he hits a bad shot, and has no time for the fans just blanking them.
Not a role model for young kids at all

p.s Gobbing on the green did him no favours either

Don't care about 'role model' nonsense that seems to get peddled out for any sportsman nowadays.

However agree with all of the rest, just a bit of an arse in general.

I admire his golf, as most people do.

Its just the way he doesnt interact with spectators like other players do, he comes over as cold
he gives uninteresting interviews, with silly answers.
Im surprised that the American public warm to him as they do

What we need is a player who plays great golf and interacts with the crowd like Rory & Gmac etc
Would you have seen Tiger on the Tennis Court last week, doing what Rory did? Not a chance

until he can loosen up and become nicer, he wont win the public over

Fragger

Not been a fan of Woods since he got some of the gallery to move a boulder claiming it was a moveable obstruction, I assume it must have been within the rules but imo he should never have done this.

Also as others have said his attitude is not good.

He does not conduct himself like a real champion. Although many champions (and journeymen too) are arrogant (although they may disguise it well), Woods does not even attempt to disguise it and sometimes seems to show contempt for others. Much of his image has been constructed with a rather cynical plan for career development and maximising endorsements, and his handling of the media when it all backfired was pitiful and repulsive.

These 2 comments pretty much sum up my view of Tiger.

Nicely put chaps

P.S. I admire him as a golfer and maybe it would help if he smiled once in a while.

Ha, except for 'gobbing' on the green, this surely IS MONTY.......??
Or
It could be Sergio ( with the Gobbing ) .......??

But Monty actually seems to have a proper personality off the course. The fact that he is such a grouch on the course but intelligent and affable off it makes him an interesting character. Tiger comes across poorly on and off the course.

I disagree
Met Monty in the flesh at Seve Cup, Wynyard Hall ( up North ) several years ago
Most rude and obnoxious bloke ever
He swore at my mates son, and but for 2 stewards, would have had his face punched in
Telling a teenager to feck orfff is NOT ON

My distain for this individual is well documented on here over the last couple of years......

Where do you start ?
THE most petulant individual playing on the Tour.......
THE most arrogant " " "
THE most dis-interesting " " "
THE most disrespectful of the etiquette of the game " " " (Club-throwing/Spitting/cursing)

All in all, I just think he's a thoroughly dis-likeable character, and it puzzles me that so many people still 'like' him at all.......the US crowds are perhaps the exception, they dont come across as the brightest of sparks.
Sure, his Golf 'can still be' amazing, and that I can appreciate, but apart from that, I wouldnt care a jot if he was never seen on our screens again.

One thing is for sure, - if his Father was alive, he wouldnt be as proud these days as he perhaps once was.
Thats gotta be the biggest judge of character.

Plus he is a Yank(er)!

He never looks like he's having fun.

Ever.

Dosent know how , was thought golf & winning & being the best is all that mattered since he could walk , he is a product of a success driven father .. ok he achieved his goal of being the best but at what cost .. ?

I appreciate achievements.

But I admire and love charisma.

Tiger has plenty of the first, and none of the second.

Pretty Bang on summation id say

I had an open mind about Tiger Woods until I went to the British Open at Hoylake in 06,Tiger had no interaction with the crowd whatsoever at the practise range. Most of the pro`s were signing autographs as they walked away(Mickelson was a complete gent)Woods did not notice the fans at all he just had this blank arrogant look and attitude and you can see that people where dissapointed that their idol was such an prick. To say that this attitude goes with the golf pro thing is not right,Ive caddied for five different guys on the seniors and apart from an ignorant Argentinian the other guys who were journeyman pro`s on the European tour and seniors tour were intense yes but not ignorent.Theres really no need for Woods to act the way he does and the only conclusion I see is that the bloke was a spoiled brat who now as an adult has a total disreguard and respect for people and finds it difficult to interact and get on with people. As for Monty about 17 years ago an experianced caddy friend of mine who caddied on the European tour got a loop with Monty, after a gradual amount of abuse was told by Monty to Feck off,he maintains to this day that Monty is the most ignorant human being he has ever met.
