Saw and article on the above and got me thinking...

There has been talk this week about the and high number of players with a chance of winning and the likelihood of a first time major champion.

Of all the bridesmaids, would it please you most to see hoist the trophy on Sunday?

For me probably Sergio for his longevity in the sport and good laughs down the years.

Yeah, I think no one would begrudge Sergio a major win.

My personal favorite would be Tony Finau. I have been following his career a bit ever since he was on the Big Break and just love to see him becoming more and more successful.

But I think, the biggest fan crowd would cheer for Beef at the moment. If he won, people would just go absolutely nuts about it.

Depends what warms your heart I suppose

Beef is the media fav this month & as Capella says the media would go into meltdown
Sullivan would probably strip & jump in the pond, real heart on his sleeve guy
Garcia/Westwood for the Mills & Boon fans
or that boy from Chile!

I think the most heart warming would be Garcia.

2nd and 3rd would be fowler and westwood for me.

Mickelson. He has been unbelievably brilliant for so long. If he finishes up on 5 majors, he'll be short-changed by history.

Add to that the show he put on at Troon, only to come 2nd (behind admittedly one of the all-time great final rounds), and I'll be right behind Lefty in every major from now until he retires.

Westie and Garcia, don't mind in which order as long as they both get to put one in the cupboard before it's too late.

The others have a lot more time/Majors already.

Re Mickelson I'd love to see him get a US Open after coming 2nd so many times and also complete the set.

Sergio finally winning one would make me smile the most though.
