It's a long way off but once England get to the quarter-finals (or dare I say the semi's) who will be the player(s) that'll miss our penalties and land lucrative deals with Pizzahut?

I'd quite like to see Heskey miss one as it would cap an otherwise useless career, not entirely sure that even Pizzahut would want him though :D Fingers crossed that he won't even make the team :p

We have a number of good penalty takers, lampard, Gerard, Carragher, (NOTE..they all missed theirs against Portugal last world cup) Rooney, Terry, Joe Cole. Beckham

However there is one player who I hope will not be called upon to take a penalty, That player is Ashley Cole
Dont ask why, I just dont have confidence in him, so in my mind, he is most likely to inherit the crown

because it seems that sods law dictates that the World Cup is not complete without a penalty shootout involving England,

Hope that Capello takes this onboard and does some serious practise just in case

lampard and gerrard are pretty much the only ones we have.

beckham and rooney both have success rates of around 50% from the spot (becks rarely stays on his feet whilst taking them!)

barry and ferdinand might be good shouts, and after that I think I'd rather see the keeper than anyone else having a go! On the rare occasions he is fit, hargreaves has shown he can take one under pressure too.

Hmmm, not very promising I have to say :(

It may not come to penalties anyway, just because it did before, after all, we won the World Cup in '66, (oops sorry), but not in '70..'74...'78...... it's not a given it'll end in penalties :D :D
