2 (A and B) guys at our Club had booked a 4BBB away day at a good course next Monday. Earlier this week one of the 2 thought he had to have a knee operation and tried to find someone to take his place which he did (C). When he went to the specialist he said that everything was OK and he could play golf next week.

Obviously C thought he was now going. Should C now go and if so should he pay the cost? The 'rules ' state that if say A or B cancel for holidays they forfeit the money but if they forfeit becuase of injury the other person , C should pay

If I was the guy that thought he was going to be unable to play I'd let C choose whether or not to go, but he has to pay if he decides to go.

If I was C I'd let the original guy go if he wanted to.

Is this on here because it's caused an argument or people can't agree?

Thanks for the input. No real argument with my mates. I was the guy going in for the Operation. I perhaps jumped the gun by trying to sort things out too quickly.

The course, Ormskirk, does not usually have Open Comps. There is now an amicable agreement that I (B)am going.

I agree entirely with what has been said that the other guy should have had first refusal which was what I said originally but I posted on here.
