Just been checking the Arrange a Game section for meets in my neck of the woods and if I wanted to go to all of them in the next year- so far I'd have to be forking out nearly £560 just to play - add into that food/drink and getting there.

£45 for Blackmoor H4H
£135 for Woburn
£60 for Beau Desert
£139 for the Old Farts v Whippersnappers
£75 for Just One's East Sussex bash
£69 for Camberley
£85 (I think) for Hillside GM event....
and I may have missed some others too..

And that doesn't include anything in like the Goswick meet.........

Strewth - there's some deep pockets on this Forum...

Anyone going to all of them..?

fatal mistake Imurg, you should know by now never to count up the cost like that ;) Same with golf gear, you should never count that up either. It's just too scary :o

Just Help for Heroes and Hillside for me though if Goswick happened again this year it would be hard to say no.

I am keeping my eye out for more of the little meets, small groups signed in at members rates. Lump, Viscount and Full_Throttle played 36 holes at Stoke and Belton for under £40 so there are cheaper options. I would love to go to Woburn etc but cannot afford that sort of outlay on 1 days golf. Also cannot plan far enough in advance to sign up for alot of them.

Off to ballyliffin and hillside all things being equal will still end up costing me close on a grand  cost not a lot less than that for Goswick last year!

Sticking to the ones that are local. I can do H4H and Camberley easily. Only stayed over at Woburn as the M1 is a lottery early morning. Isn't Smiffy doing Crowborough which wasn't on the list

I'm doing

Blackmoor H4H
Cooden Beach (smiffy)
Camberley (+2 others either side of the date)
and
Beau Desert if it takes off

I think thats enough for this year atm

i have got 3 children that all want to do junior opens during the summer holidays, these range from £20-£50 a shot, so times that by 3 and talking alot of money as there can be 3 a week !

Those prices are just for the golf. You can probably double that once you throw in the travelling.

Blimey, that's expensive. The junior opens in this neck of the woods are between £5 and £10

I'm doing Blackmoor and Camberley. I've not seen the Beau Desert meet but would like to do that one. I'd like to do Hillside, but can't commit at the moment, if they have any spaces left nearer the time I might take one up.

There is some great quality courses in that list and if you played them off your own back you would possibly have to add another 25% to those prices.

I would love to play at Hillside and at Beau Desert, but doubt the funds will stretch to meets that far away this year:(

Golf is like fishing, you can make it as cheap or as expensive as you want to.

You could try match fishing at £3000 for a top of the range pole and spares knowing that in 3 years time it will require replacement due to wear and tear and then add £100-£150 a week for bait and competition fees.

A day ticket to Alton Towers costs £42.00 nowadays.Add £20.00 to that for some food and you are up to the price of a decent track. You can spend 8 hours standing in queues to go on a poxy ride for 2 minutes or spend 4 hours knocking it around some gorgeous golf course.
