was it Dad, Mum, Friends... Just liked it?
My mum introduced me when i was 14 with a trip to the range. but it was my friends when i was 20 who got me hooked!

My dad got me a junior half set when I was 8 bt i used it more for knocking nails into my tree house. I did play for a while in the nearby fields but never took it up seriously until I hit 18 or so and could afford the green fees myself. then gave it up for 6 years and am now back at it more hooked than ever.

Self - drawn to it somehow, no-one in the family golfed but I borrowed some clubs off a pal as a ten year old and hacked it round in 145 without knowing the rules. Some kind of seed was sown!

I have always played golf ( had a 7 and 9 iron) but my Brother in Law got me serious about it when I was in my 20's. Nearly lost the bugger in a motor bike crash in July so the rivalry took a back seat for a while ....

Then tanked him in The Wee Jo Mo

Get in !!!!!

i started about 3 years ago when i gave up playing football, my Good uncle who bides in Aberdeen showed me the light and away i went, between him ,madandra and a couple of other golfnuts i progressed into the hacker i am today

The wife and myself took the game up about 3 years ago.Not having any children and wasting weekends infront of the t.v we went and had 6 lessons and have been playing ever since.Wish I had done it years before.

Myself, my brother and my best pal we took up Pitch & Putt in our early tens and took up golf in our twenties-not on a regular basis-we were still playing huring.
my father could not take to the game-he played Hurling until he was 49 but could never get into golf.

Better late than never! I know that taking up the game was one of the best things I've ever done.

My dad. We used to go on holiday to Exemouth for 4 weeks in the summer, and in the evenings used to go to the local pitch and putt. A quick nine, a beer in the pub, and fish and chips on the way back to the house. Perfect.

My Dad. Both me and my brother play. My brother was a little bit older before he got really into it, and is the best golfer out of the three of us (the bugger).

My earliest memories are of the three of us playing at the local course and my brother telling my Dad to hit it in the bunker, so he could go in and rake it. He also used to like waving the flags around too.

Company sent me out to malaysia for a few weeks toward the end of last year. The resident guys out there were either committed golf nuts or becoming so. With the job done, I went out for 9-holes with them - that was enough! Came back, bought clubs, booked lessons!
(should have bought clubs after the lessons - gratuitous advice for all beginners)
How I wish I'd found golf years ago!
