So, as the winter begins to drift off  I read many suggest theyve had lessons etc but who sticks at it? Who has a coach they refer to monthly or bimonthly throughout the year in an effort to continue to improve?

would a large estate do?

I do, but i don't have lessons very often. In fact none in the last year, but we still talk. I am planning on a few later in the year.

I have a teaching pro at a local range I use. He''s very good and I can send emails and video clips outside of the lessons to make sure I am working on the right stuff. I tend to have about 6 lessons a year, usually 3-4 over the winter, a short game one and then some refreshers, or "what the hecks gone wrong?" as the season progresses. Now I'm almost back to rude(ish) health I hope for good things starting on Saturday with my first lesson of 2017

Me lol.

I have had lessons almost monthly with Ross for a couple of years now. He knows where I want to go with my golf and wants to use the winter to be ready to get up to speed for the new season. To be fair he generally says he doesn't want to see me during the summer and that I should be just out playing. The only time would be for a quick mot or if a particular problem has arisen. He also says that if I have any video footage available between lessons to send it to him and he will look at it before the next lesson. We also communicate by text with updates on games played etc and any comments he wants to add. I t has been a great help and feel we are getting somewhere.

I'm similar, this is year #4 of same coach. Very helpful as he understands my default mechanics/issues.
It can be frustrating seeing the same "faults" coming up but it takes a lot of work and patience to change and it's not his fault.

I buy a block of lessons, use 30mins / 60 mins with trackman etc. (and share with Mrs who's still learning)

We categorise them into Driver, Wedge Play, Iron play and I do tests and technicals to keep it on track.
I keep a book/log of the lessons, videos, pics so that I can refer back to them.

Helps that he loves seeing progress and results, seems properly interested - good bloke.
Works for me.

I wouldn't say I had a coach, but I do have lessons every 6 to 8 weeks with the Pro at Blackmoor.

I go to see the pro who taught me to play many moons ago couple of times a year he knows me inside out.
it does help if you find a teacher who knows you and your swing.

Yup. I do. He's a good friend too...so happy for me to talk about it all and send him videos. He FaceTime'd me on the range earlier too, to give me something to focus on.

Class.

Not a coach but last couple of years I've had lessons with the same guy over the winter. First year was a fairly major change to grip and swing plane. Just minor corrections since then.

I don't tend to have lessons during the season but would have the odd one as and when just to fix any issues. Took him five mins to cure my chronic fats and thins at the start of last season!

And, yeah, think I was stuck at six with little chance of going much lower until those changes the first winter.

I've had a few lessons over the years but I've only ever used Steve Holden. I trust him but most importantly his methods are very simple to understand.

My game has suffered recently but that's down to not playing/practice enough and not the Pro/coach.

I done a job for a customer before Christmas and her husband is a pro based near Chester, he insisted he gave my swing a looking at but I'm a bit apprehensive going to see him.

I've had a few lessons with my club pro in recent months and happy with the results. I sort one as and when but plan 2 or 3 before the start of the new season

Two lessons in. plan on giving lessons a year at least. One a month.

Never gave series of lessons a go before so thought why the hell not?

When I get the full swing sorted ( if ever ) , I plan to have a fairway wood lesson.

I have online lessons on evolvr.

Thinking about getting a coach in person instead

would like weekly with a round or 2 and a few hours practice in between.

Been with my coach for 2-3 years now.

Has taken me from 5.6 to 2.7 which I'm pretty pleased with. Still making some fairly big changes but I trust him, and he teaches in a way I digest well
