Ok guys myself and Forefortheday are playing new years eve between 0900 and 1500. Will be somewhere in the north west, venue to be confirmed once we have participants.

Few suggestions for courses from me are

1)Old padeswood in Buckly. I played it last week and its in excellent condition

2) Mollington, my course but is a little wet and maybe not ideal.

If these are too far for you FFTD we can go else where,

I have played Old padeswood with 2 different forum members and had i beleive both liked it. I know RGUK did he went round 5 over :D

Come on guys get ya names down early so we can get a venue sorted. What better way to end the year than to play on the last day.

Possibly will let you know for sure tomorrow if thats ok Tony

No bother stuart.

Probably best Old padeswood then FFTD if they good with you, Stuart what about you, if your in, any quarms with Old padeswood?

Just off out to play this morning...
Woke up to a nice dusting of frost everywhere, course is open...hopefully the greens will be a little softer than our patio!
Wish me luck

Spoke to Old padeswood, They dont have anything on Wed and are happy for us to Rock up in our own time.

So once we have full numbers we can sort a time, I would suggest 09:30 tee off.

I would get there about 09:00-09:15

If this is too early though I am happy to go with the 'crowd' if we get one :)

Id love to join you but I d never live it down scooting all the way over to Flintshire and getting back late on new years eve, besides Im full of the flu just now so I dont know how long I will have it? Still, have a great day gents, it looks an interesting course.

Shame that Herb, its a great track, Well I like it. Hope to see you in the near future.

Anyone else? COme on guys!

Played yesterday but really wish I hadn't bothered.
Phoned the course up at just after 8 as it was frosty down here on the coast and I wanted to confirm the course was open. "Yes" said the pro, "no problem"
So meet my mate there at 9.30 and pay our green fee, again the pro confirmed that the course was OK.
First green..frozen solid. Second green..the same. Played 7 holes and enough was enough. Cut through to the 15th and played the last couple of holes (well drove off and then picked the ball up)..my mate went into the pro shop to complain that the course was "unplayable" (I was quite happy to just jump in the car and get home) but the pro apologised and refunded our green fees. Have got another game planned for New Years Day...just hope we don't have another frost. Don't mind playing in the colder temperatures, but when the greens are frozen solid it kinda makes a mockery of anything else you are trying to do.

Yes agreed. I went out today with the new sky caddie, hit a green dead centre, the ball bounced 30 foot in the air and about 30 foot through the back.

Nobody else fancy it then. Just me and FFTD so far and possibly StuartC.

Tony, would love to play on new years eve but i have already made plans.
Enjoy your game and hopefully i will be able to play with some of you in 2009.
Cheers,
Jim

Brrrrr, I think you guys are gonna be struggling tomorrow. Completely iced up here for the last 3 days. Can't see the course being playable, particularly if you are after an early start.

All clear this morning this way, Not a hint of frost or Ice.

However just read the paper and it wreckons its gonna start getting cold as of tommorow!

FFTD, I will PM you my mob num and if you dont think its worth the trip tommorow, just gimme a bell before you leave.

Stuart, are you in mate? If so I will PM you too.
