Just looking for opinion on what irons you would pick from the following options, I know it's personal to each person and a set could work differently for different individuals.

But if someone put the following irons in front of you and said pick one which would you choose?

Titleist AP2 714
Callaway apex pro
Ping S55

I love the look of the ap2 and the feel when you hit the sweet spot , However the off centre hits are so penalising .like the look of the apex and wouldn't mind giving them a hit .

Go with the ones you like the look of the best.

For me that's the 714s. the apex pros are excellent irons too.

There is no answer for this.

having hit the S55 and Ap2's

i would say (that for me) the pings are the best looking but a bit "clicky" in feel

Ap2s are lovely and soft

Apex pro are mega expensive are they not?

AP2's - am considering them for if I do decide to change irons this year.

I use Ap2 710 and they feel so soft and feel great. Last night I tried G30, G25, Nike Speed and Taylormade Afterburners and not one of them came close to the AP2. My mate was testing new irons so I thought I'd have a go too. He took a wee shot of my 7 iron and just fell in love. Didn't fall in love with the price though.

I recon the S55 are the best looking irons there but I recon the AP2 are probably the most forgiving for the size and shape.

No the apex pro seem to be the cheapest of the 3 sets, that's from looking around here in Ireland

I'd wait for the shiny new Mizuno MP25's. They look amazing. The MP5's look even better, but they're full on blades.

Have hit both Apex Pro and AP2 during fitting.

For me the AP2's were nicer overall. I noticed they were a few yards shorter than the Apex Pro though. Dispersion was tighter with AP2's. But to be honest that fitting session was so poor I could have had more from the Apex Pro's.

Never hit the pings though.

Have you considered the Titleist CB? Lovely irons, I had a set for 4 years. I actually found them better than the ap2 and as easy to hit at a fitting by Titleist themselves.

I moved to Ping i25 this year and am liking those, long irons (I have 3 - pw) are really easy to hit.

Non of those, Srixon Z745 a stunning looking club in the flesh.

like you say OP depends on folks swing characteristics plus what they like looking down at the clubhead behind the ball.

but as you see from the sig. apex pro for me - smaller head toe to heel, groove pattern that's little ways unusual to reduce spin great feel - changed from MP33's a while back now. haven't regretted it once.

hit the others - titleist little too clicky sound/feel, & a tad too chunky for me.
s55's okay but didn't like the feel much also designed to produce a higher ball flight. got a bunch of flyers when I looked at them.

for me apex pro's, great flight, brilliant trajectory & distance control, plus feel. win, win.
