So I've chosen the MX-200s for my irons, so now I need to find some wedges to go with them. I am looking at probably MP-T11s or Vokeys, just wondering as I don't have the chance to go hit any at the mo, what the general feeling is?

If I have forged irons, will I notice a massive difference with cast wedges? Will it make no odds whatsoever?

Also I notice a lot of sites advertise clubs with "wedge flex" shafts and others with stiff, but none seem to offer regular flex. What's the deal with that?

good luck with the new Mizuno's.
Take your time with your wedge. Try a wedge if you can on the course, from my limited knowledge the hardest shot to play for a high handicapper is the 20 yard pitch from the 1st cut on the fairway.
If you can try a 58/60 degree of each make on that shot, pick the one your happiest with.
I have learned to "love" my Cleveland CG15's but only after a difficult start to the relationship.
Good luck.

I had CG15's too but got stupid spin from them. I was getting 15-20 feet of backspin on a 100 yards shot - mad, you can't control that and it's no good when you pitch pin high and then you're chipping next shot.

There is a difference between cast and forged wedges but I doubt in reality many of us can tell on chips and pitches.

Vokey and Mizuno make great wedges but finding the right ones takes trial and error.

MP T-10's are good as well. Got a couple last week for £80 the pair.

Where from Rich?

Direct golf store in Farnborough. Normally £50 but had a 20% discount. Think that has finished, but you can now get 10% off with code in this months GM, GMMA11, on line, over the phone, or in store. Must admit i didn't go in to buy any wedges but at that price it was just too tempting. ;)

My 52 deg MP T series is absolutely my favourite club, it's the one I go to for everything from 10 yards off the green to 50 yards out - unless I have to get up and down quick.

The 52 deg is the only one that regularly gets used for full shots too.

Ooh, that's literally 5 minutes from me, where I am getting the irons from. I didn't get a chance to check out the wedges whilst I was in there, but I will have a look! :)

I had a look online in various places, butthey seem to be about as rare as rocking horse sh*t now. Besides, I prefer blade type wedges to cavity backed ones. I was using an RAC 56 deg rather than my r7 sand wedge previously.

Ended up taking rich's advice and picked up 3 MP T-10s in 50, 56, 60 from Farnborough for £135. As rich said, they were £50 each but had the 10% off voucher in this month's mag. Played a round with them and the difference from my old TM wedges is huge. I don't know if its the forged heads or the Dynamic Gold shafts, but they are just amazing to hit and the feel when chipping etc is much nicer.

You are the first person ever to take my advice on the forum. A rather dubious honour. ;) ;)

Wedge flex is usually TT DG S200. Slightly lighter and softer than S300 for a bit more feel in the wedge. You can usually order other flexes as free custom upgrades, and other shafts as free or low price upgrades.
