Hi forum folk, having decided to buy a Cleveland launcher hybrid,I now need advice as to which shaft to get(red or gold). The red gives a lower flight and is probably for the better player and the gold gives a higher flight so I assume it generates more spin and will stop on the green easier. But which do I get! Discuss.....
:D

Um, have you tried hitting them both? You might find one balloons and goes no where, and one is impossible to get off the ground. It all comes down to your swing, and what you want in terms of ball flight.

You do need to try them. I've got the gold regular shaft in my 20.5 and its fine for me. The red shaft is quite firm by comparison - it flexes all along the shaft so you need quite a fast swing speed to get the most from it. The gold has an active tip to help you get the ball airborne and really is suited to normal swings.
My SS is about 95-100 with a driver, coming down from that through the clubs and the gold works for me. I have the same shaft in my 4 wood - same results.

My swing speed is about 105,and the rest of my clubs are stiff,as I live in windy scotland I am wary of my ball getting up too high, but a nice soft landing would be nice,is this too much to ask of one club?

My swing speed is high about 105mph on average (my fastest 115 mph recorded at callaway demo day!) they also had a cleveland demo on the day and i was fitted with the red shaft. To me the red felt more solid where as the gold was considerably more flexible feeling, but it did have a nice kick at impact. The red gave a much better ball flight, nice and penetrating where as the gold did get up in the air a little high which would have been bad in the wind. Hope that may have helped :)

Thanks guys, really appreciate all input.I don't have club membership yet,so demoing both from a pro shop might not be the best option,I think world of golf in Glasgow might let me try them.
