We have all had a short putt for birdie and 3 putted for bogey.

We have all tried to reach the green from 300 yards and topped it up the fairway.

We have all hit one OOB off the tee then done the same thing again with our next ball.

We have all had a chip/putt up a steep bank that has rolled right back to our feet.

There are loads of others as well, which one really winds you up?

A thinned attempt at a flop shot.

I know it is coming but I still try it sometimes.

Taking the club out of my bag was the solution.

I moved an LI yesterday that caused my ball to move. silly waste of a shot

Probably an errant drive, or a topped 5i on the fairway. I find both of them incredibly frustrating as I see them as truly wasted shots!!!

As a high handicapper, those two (but mostly the driver) are crippling me atm.

Straight pull left. Usually happens when I go after the ball a bit hard. On vid it looks like I start the downswing early with the body leaving the arms behind. They've got nowhere to go other than out, casting, and come from out to in with the club face closed. Occasionally it includes an uncontrolled draw(hook).

Trying to hit my driver too hard and watch the ball go sailing into the trees down the right hand side. A real issue, if I hold back to get the ball straight distance really suffers :(

Following up a great drive with a rubbish 2nd shot. Such a waste!

The FAT shot, usually because I'm trying to hit too hard to reach the green and the ball travels about 30 yards, again a high handicappers nightmare.

Trying to hit a shot too hard. Usually, actually always, happens on longer shots. In particular using hybrid clubs. I know I have to swing slowly but I just struggle to stop myself and end up topping or thinning. Basically anything but out of the middle and straight. I know not to do it but just keep on repeating myself which is why it is so annoying.

3 off the tee. Don't do it very often, but it's infuriating. Yesterday on the 17th at Knotts End I sliced my first drive onto the Driving Range. Reloaded, drove the green and made 5. Probably the most frustrating 5 I've ever made and took the slice before took the gloss off the 311 yard drive that made the green.

You step up to the most scenic hole on the course. A lovely inviting 296y par4. Nice big fairway and you hit it in the rough.

Shanking your drive off the tee on a par 3.

Most of all, like above. It's the peach of a drive totally ruined by the utterly weak second.

Selecting the wrong stroke to make. Not talking about the have a go hero type but the one where you've got several options, give it a good think but still go for the worst option.

For me it's the thinned or sliced tee shot. It's what is keeping my scores above 100 at the moment! Especially if your playing partner (mteam can testify to this after Saturday) has the honour and goes right off the tee, and you joke about not following that line. Then proceed to follow that line, if not a worse one!

All arises from trying to hit it too hard and hitting "at the ball", as opposed to having a relaxed well timed swing that the ball merely gets in the way of. Makes me hit down, over the top and out to in; produces poor contact as well as a toe-hit, overlaid onto a slicey swing path.

Playing off the 17th tee at Pike Fold, I apologise to the gents on the adjacent 8th green (to the right) who almost fell victim to a classic annoying tee shot of mine. In fact, I was about 3 inches from finding the water hazard that protects the back of the 8th green from over-clubbed approaches.

This for me as well.
About on a par with a poor lay up shot - you know the ones, where you have 240 to carry, which most normal people can't, so you lay up with a short/mid iron and play it too casually and end up behind trees, in the rough, or still 230 out....

Duffing a chip and getting a double hit also. A double whammy that takes a while to recover from.

I did it both days of our club championship last year, amazingly it occured on the same hole from the side of the green.
