Which hybrid?

I had a go with a hybrid the other day at the range and absolutey loved it! It was the equivalent of a 4-iron, which was ideal for me because my long irons tend to let me down over the course of 18 holes.

What I particularly liked about it was that because I could hit it quite high, there was very little roll once it landed. When using my driver, the ball rolling often can lead to trouble, ending up in rough etc, so I like the idea of using a hybrid on narrower fairways.

Can anyone recommend a 'cheapish' one as I don't really want to spend much at the mo!

how cheap is cheap?

this is what i use and they are great. without doubt, the most easy to hit club in my bag... they look good at address, the ball does all that you've said you want from a golf shot.

Why not buy the one you tried? It might yey be the only one out there you can hit.

Despite playing a Ping hybrid (which I hit reasonably well) I do like the look of the Wilson Fybrids as highlighted by Slugger above.
If I wasn't such a Ping convert I would most probably carry one in my bag

For cheap options look at Benross or MD Golf

I liked the cobra baffler, still think it was incredible but in the end I dropped it in favour of a 5w which I loved.

Tried the titleist 585h but it was beyond a man of my mortal talents most of the time so stuck with 5w then 3I.

The seniors comment is tounge-in-cheek largely but it always made me chuckle when I would see people playing sets of "irons" that actually only had 3 irons in it in the true sense of the word.

I have 3 Wilson Staff fybrid clubs and they are superb.

I had to try/buy more than one though before I found the one for me.

I'm using the Benross VX's and are as good as the TM or Callaway I've used although being a high handicapper maybe dont get the benefit.

I'd second the Mizuno's. I got the 2&3 with steel shafts.

just purchased 2 taylor mades (one off ebay one off here) i had a 2 and a 3, the 2 was to much and was between my 3 wood and 5 wood, so ive kept the 3 which is about what i need, id buy the 4 if it come up aswell.
