Any fellow golfers on here who live in SM5?

Have decided to either join Surrey Downs at £1300 for 15 months membership or Oaks Park for £1000 for a year (really close to home)

I love Kingswood and Woodcote Park but they are just far too expensive for me :(

Any advice on either or an alternative that isnt over the £1300?

Cheers

I'm not far from you but of those mentioned ( I know you said expensive) but sure Woodcote means you can play Addington Palace, Croham Hurst and Purley Downs during the week if still the same as when I was a member a few years back so is nice to mix it up and all very good courses.

I've joined Woldingham now as drains so well during winter meaning no Temps and also get playing rights at Westerham and Surrey National.

I go to Oaks quite frequently for the climbing gym but the golf is a bit poor imo, would recommend Woldingham as well even though I reckon you can ignore the reciprocal with Surrey National as that is silly.

If you can stretch to it distance wise look at Reigate Heath or Reigate Hill which are both good value, Hill gets wet though. The Heath is one of the very best nine holers in the country and do 25% off the first year. Closer to you I think Epsom might come in near the 1300 mark.

I think Kingswood do flexible memberships. I'm playing there on Friday so can get a pack and check for you. I know that gets a bit wet in winter and thought Surrey Downs was the same. Wouldn't join the Oaks but I've had some bad experiences there and so wouldn't rush back. What about Croham Hurst?

£450 for flexible at Kingswood plus green fee every time you play

Blimey! What does that give you? A handicap and access to enter some comps?

I am at Coulsdon and pay £85 plus the green fee. I think £85 is steep as all they have to do is add 0.1 to my handicap every tine I play!

I will do £500 for the summer this year though......
