Thinking of buying first GPS best offers I've seeen are:
Garmin approach g3 unit £118 on amazon or tesco or Bushnell Geo £99 again on amazon
Which would be best? Only need basic measurements required but g3 does have extra features and will use rechargeable battery on g3.
Any advice very welcome. Thanks.

I found the Garmin G3 a tad difficult to read so changed it for the Garmin S3 watch perfect

If i was you look at the S1 (LOWER COST) superb GPS and so simple

Got the G3 and I love it. I use rechargeable batteries which last 2 rounds plus and easy enough to swap them after 36 holes each time. Very useful although mine doesn't seem to move hole to hole that automatically despite being set to do so. Only thing I can fault it on really but it's a very minor niggle. Oh and a battery charge left would be useful but they're often inaccurate anyhow so just need to have a routine of knowing it's round 2 completed and change them.

Not sure if this applies to the G3, but if you press the power button (briefly) on the G5 you get a lock screen with a battery indicator.
