If any one finds my swing, can I have it back? I lost it today, and have looked in all the pockets in my golf bag, I've looked in the car boot, and I seem to have mislaid it.

Last seen Thursday evening, so it can't be far away.

I've got a medal tomorrow, so a prompt finding would be handy.

Many thanks.

Don't worry Chris, James will see you at 4.30 tomorrow morning in the West Herts car park to see you right!!

I've been playing ok recently. Nothing flash, but ok.

I had an 11 over last Saturday, a 5 over on Sunday, a 6 over for 13 on Thursday, including a quadruple bogey on the 11th. I practiced fine yesterday.

And then there was the car crash of today. I just cannot get off a tee peg. Cue tops, slices, flat hooks, basically any thing but straight. Nearly all second shots are chip outs. Iron play is fine, once I can get a look at the green. 28 points. Junk. Two birdies in there too.

All signs of being steep. Make sure your stance isn't too narrow. Make sure you're not standing too close to the ball. It's not an 8-iron. Make sure your head stays back and your right shoulder 'feels' like it's going to swing under your chin on the way down.

£30 for that 2 minute fix please....

(Do I actually have to be standing next to you to say those words or can I do it from here?) :p

Interesting Holmes, interesting.

If you're steep you stall and flip the club, if you don't flip it you'll top it as the club will almost pass over the top of the ball.. and if you do flip it you'll shut the face and hook it.... so you hold the face open and turn (like you're supposed to)... and now you slice it.

Just get the set up correct (as above) so that the club shaft will be a little flatter thru the ball (just a fraction more 'sweep' than 'steep') and voila!

Head stays back, right shoulder feels like it's going to pass under your chin but it can't because you'll be turning.....I'm going to (have to) trust you to get it right in my absense.....

If your set up is correct and your club shaft is flat enough and you still can't hit it then that's when you might have some swing faults that need addressing, grip, turn, backswing etc. Get the set up correct and a lot of 'swing faults' take care of themselves.

I say interesting, because I have been standing a little closer to the ball, starting Friday. Not much, but a bit. Irons fine, clearly driver is a no.

Thanks mate!

(and I saw your post pre edit!)

No problem Chris. You might duff a few until you get used to the new plane of the swing (as with all swing changes) but other than that it should be better.

You just have to look in the ask the experts section to see mine pal..... And trust me I wouldn't give you mine if you needed to cut down weeds out the back its giving me that much grief.......
