Morning all,

Just a quick question, looking to continue to learn golf but I'm on a budget. Anyone Know where I can Find cheap deals on Lessons or Rounds (Sorry to say I live in Romford/Essex:thup:).

Also Group or individual lessons ?

Many thanks all,

Try the get Into golf website - there you can search for activities helping people get into golf

For casual rounds, TeeOffTimes have good offers.

Learning the basics can be done in group lessons but if you really want to improve, individual lessons are the way to go. A series spaced a reasonable length apart - so you can practice the drills etc between them - is almost certainly the way to reduce cost, but it's never going to be 'cheap'!

Al already mentioned teeofftimes are good, as are teetimes. I use both, I think one makes you pay when you book it and one when you turn up at the club. Only really had one issue where they had a tee time on offer but after booking it could not supply it, but they rang me and sorted it out. As long as you are not booking for Saturday morning (which I was) you'll be fine.

Look into the Open Fairways card.. costs about £90 a year, but pays for itself many times over in discounts, including for group bookings and can often be got on the cheap through the likes of Groupon and its ilk.

Sign up to all of the local deals websites in your area. Wowcher, Groupon, Amazon Local etc. Mostly you'll get sent deals for tat that you have no interest in, but golf rounds and lessons often pop up.

The guy who I get lessons from regularly advertises good deals on Amazon Local, but as they're designed to drum up new business for him I haven't yet been bold enough to snap up a load of lessons at a big discount...

Risebridge golf course is 11pound after 3pm weekdays or 15 on weekends mate. Teeoftimes do mardyke for cheap prices and not a bad course. Lessons try mobs dick driving range for a group deal on a sat . Nothing wrong in living in romford

If you can be flexible time wise and play latter part of day normally great deals - often refered to as twilight times. Ring local clubs and ask as often not on website rates.

If you play with a friend, 2-fore-1 vouchers can be good, check T&Cs.

((Anyone know if you have to be member of affiliated club to get county card or just join golf union?))
