So not to hijack JustOne's thread.

Last night watching the Tour Champs at East Lake I noticed how close to the green the spectators were sitting/standing.

The 7th green in particular. The flag was back left and the spectators were 4 feet off the green. Asking to get hit?

I feel that it's the organisers responsibility here and not the player's.

Dang!!! I was going to get to that part a bit later, I was building up to it :D LOL

The bit that always amuses me is when a pro hits ball way off line, behind the crowd lining the fairway, and the marshals clear a "path" through the crowd so that he can see the green.
They wouldn't be happy leaving me a corridor only 10 foot wide!!

I still think once someone gets seriously injured where a glove or ball won't really do it, there will be some people suing. I really hope it doesn't get to that stage as once the floodgates are open where will it stop

I've been hit by a golf ball that was thinned from about 80 yards away and hit me on the temple it hurt but no lasting damage. I guess if it hit you in the eye then it's a different matter.

Lad back home has the name "rod eye" due to being hit with a golf ball and now has a false one. Apparently it made a popping noise like a bag of crisps and it was hanging down his face....🙀
