whats your stock shot

i cut my driver and draw all my irons what do you guys do

Blimey.....what are you playing off?

I'm just happy with straight-ish. a.t.m. when it goes wrong, it's normaly a small pull or over-fade.

if you are drawing your irons, surely you can develop this for your drives?.....that would be tasty...

andieritchie

what are you playing off. I'd love to be able to move it both ways deliberately (can hit big hooks and slices just not when required!!).

My stock shot is probably a pushed drive right off the tee, hook left with an iron of a tee and fairly straight with everything else of the short stuff.

I can also fade and draw pretty much at will simply by standing closer or further away from the ball (fade occasionally goes straight and draw sometimes stays out a little right which can be troublesome if trees are involved) but my favorite shot is the low fizzing 20 yard sandwedge that doesnt go more than 6 feet in the air and checks first bounce and pulls up dead before it gets a chance to roll out.

I normally draw my drives slightly and when I am hitting my irons well, they have a slint hint of draw too.

Now though, a nasty slice has crept in off the tee and i keep pushing my irons.

Have been messing about with draw and fade with my driver and i'm getting there. Although it is quite hard to fade with a draw bias. It's a tour head so is less closed than normal but non the less, still toe in, and at worst goes straight!

In general terms - Draw with the irons - PW is the strongest draw down to the 4I whcih is a weak draw - rescue is straight, woods fade and driver can be straight to fade or slice, all these depend on the day but these are my general shapes.

when hitting my irons well (not currently!!!!!!  ) I can work it both ways pretty consistently and play more of a high fade when desired and a low draw when I try that. Normally I just try and keep it straight though but last time out I was hooking them quite nastily or just hitting it fat  . It is very rare that I do try and move the ball though, I rarely find the need. I just tried it last week when I was hitting my irons absolutely superbly and was surprised at the success.

I love a 150 yard 7-iron starting right of target with a bit of draw love this but annoyed when the pins on the right! Nooo!

It would have to be a really low punch with any of my irons, they don't fade or draw just fly dead straight. It's definitely helped my game being able to play it.

Like Mad, I love the punch, 4 iron back foot, down the grip hold the follow through off and watch it start out like a SAM.

I have been practicing these when I find crappy balls on the course. Surprising how much you learn when your not afraid to loose a ball.

Also the draw and fade shots are great to watch. I have been practicing shaping the ball and having alot of fun with it. Anyone else find it easier to draw the long irons?
