What's your spread?

Looking at some of the dross I've served up this year from my playing record has, perversely, given me a little bit of encouragement for next year

Whilst I haven't put a really good round together at all, my record shows that I haven't had any major horror shows either. That's complete with some swing changes in the middle which I'm still working on.

Over the 12 qualifiers played at my home course this year, I have a spread of just 5 shots:
Par 70
Hcap 4
Best score 74 - not happy with that
Worst score 79 - happy with that



How does your spread look for the year?

Like you I've been making swing & grip changes, and whilst scoring poorly have actually played ok:

9 shot spread:
Par 72
Best - 74 - happy
Worst - 83 - terribly annoyed

The 83 was an abhoration, my average score has been 79, which is 2 over handicap (approx where I believe it should be remembering an old thread) and I've buffered or better in over half of my rounds.

my worst @ the players this year was 82, and my lowest was 71. At Burnham so far, the worst i've shot is 82 (off the greens) and the best is 75.

I did have a 90 at Royal Ashdown Forest in August, but that was a one off.

Enjoyed my golf this year so happy regardless.

At my home club. this season my lowest is 76, Highest is 87, average score across 16 qualifiers at my home club is 82.3. may aswell have just written 81/82 down before I'd even started.

Here' is the interesting thing (well for me)..... Last season the lowest was 77 and the highest 89 and..........

My average score for both last year and this year is 82.3 !!! I think I've hit a wall !!!

That's over 13 comps this year for me. Could have been lower at times and should never have been as high in my bad round. Working hard this winter to get things better for next year.

Good golf this year mate!

After my thread a month ago around performance for the year, i've got cut in 4 of my last 5 rounds and have only shot over buffer once since Early August!

A reasonable year turned into a great one!

Best = 70 - disappointing, usually significantly better
Worst = 82 - there's been too much of that, unfortunately

I've played 'pants' in competitions to be frank after starting the season feeling pretty decent. Gone through the cycle and am now hitting it as good as I ever have just in time for the qualifiers to dwindle to virtually nothing. Awesome.

That's a lot of qualifiers to be able to go from 6.2 to 3.9 and back to 5.1!! especially with no ESRs either!!

I've played 27 this year now - 11 .1s, 9 buffers and 7 cuts.

Best 71 - pleasing since I hadn't played for about 3 weeks but was 4 under in the middle of 15th fairway and choked a little to say the least.
Worst 87 - total shocker and towel thrown well and truly in.

Started season at 4.3 and finished at 4.1 so happy with that but a shocking year on the greens and this needs to be sorted before the start of next season.

From 16 qualifiers. Depressing as I know I could be better, I've blown almost every good scoring opportunity with a mid-iron in my hand from the middle of a fairway due to mystery shanks.
