What's your proudest moment in golf

Mine is after struggling the last year to play to my handicap (28) and having a number of embarrassing scores at my society to finally finish in the top 10 a couple of weeks ago and get my first ever trophy for finishing 3rd!

Annoying thing is that with just one more point I'd have tied first with two others and won on countback!

Looking forward to the next one!

For me its a combination of things that left me feeling proud of myself. Getting given a 12 handicap in the worst conditions possable, playing to and below it for 20+ games in a row, shooting 79,believing I can be better. Dont often feel proud of myself, the golfing gods have had a word with me since but I am well on my way back to even better form.

Getting to cat 1 for the first time when in my fifties and staying there into my sixties.
From a lot of class players, even if I say so myself, at 60 qualifying for the club championships at Dunbar, getting into the last 8 after dumping a scratch player at the first extra hole. He was not happy and damaged his car in the car park.

A few, for different reasons, but picking just one it'd have to be breaking par and 70 for the first time in a medal this year with a two under par 67. As much for the golf I played that day as the score, the game just seemed easy for once!

And annoyingly, that form was fleeting. Shot 70 the next time out but have been getting steadily worse ever since!

Id love to do that ...

Being the lowest handicap in the club must be cool tho

Shooting 1 under gross back in 1999.

It was off the yellows (not whites), it was a friendly game with my dad (not competition), etc. but it's my proudest moment in golf.

Good question and I'm finding it hard to choose. 1st hcp (27) when i was a kid I think. There's been plenty of nice stuff along the way like 1st time breaking par in a comp, unofficial course record etc, etc but that first hcp made me feel 10ft tall. If my lad continues to enjoy playing and gets his cap' too there'll be a new winner.

A couple and both with my Dad. Going around Woodbury with him in level par, 3 over front nine, and 3 under back nine. Another time I went around my own course with him and I was2 under. I think golf is the only thing I have ever beaten hi at, growing up I could not beat him at anything. He used to kick my butt every time at squash.

Edit: Beat him at snooker a few times but only because he had had a few jars.

Mine is being Rabbits Captain this year, a lot of hard work a very understanding wife and the honour of representing my club

Taking my late father to Swinley Forest for his 65th birthday .......................... and letting him hammer me with ease!
