I once won a comp as a junior and my prize was a golf foundation boot bag that looked like it would be at home on a shelf at the pound store and a sleeve of Top Flight XL2000 balls.

I don't win them but I am sure my Christmas present from my mother is always something she has won in a comp / club tombola. Got a set of very strange teacups and saucers one year and it had still had a pink numbered ticket taped to the bottom of the box. :ooo:

I won the Longest Drive comp at the Mayor of Bicester's Charity Day back in '98.......

And I got a 2nd hand Mizuno T-Zoid Driver as a prize - Like I needed it.....

The nearest the pin prize was a wedge and the leaset number of putts prize was a putter - well thought out!

My worst prize was 6 pro Vs and a 20 inch tall, large trophy. No bad you say, well try explaining a trophy that size when the wife thinks you've been at work for the day - employee of the month, think not!!!! :o:o:o:o:o

i won the longest drive comp at the pro-am before the ENGLISH seniors open at ST MELION and the prize was a driver made by MD sport,it was donated by the pro shop there, when i tried to exchange it he said he buys them in for £20 but could only give me £10 to put towards something else !!!!! i gave it to one of the juniours at my club i saw it a week later in the pro shop un-used and priced at £15

Works day, first prize for teams was a £300 driver each, 3rd was a pair of adidas golfshoes each, we were 2nd and got a holdall

A (varnished) lump of wood (15"x6"x6") with a Fox Door-Knocker screwed on - The Fox Trophy!

Much appreciated by HiD - not!

The Lincolnshire county have an inter club foursomes comp and the club I played for in 1998 got to the finals day, we lost our semis and then lost out on 3rd place finishing 4th on the day........ 1st time I'd experienced the Lincs County green jackets, For our efforts throughout the summer beating some good teams, and on the finals day was a lousy 2x Titleist professional 90's from the LGU........
Chuffed to bits I was....... I turned round saw my mate who caddied for me that day told him to hold his hand out and said here you can have them and all, and slapped them in his hand and walked off.

Galway Irish Crystal Golf Bag Ornament for nearest the pin (think it was intended as a lavish christmas tree decoration)

Actually when google'ing for the pic I've just seen it sells for $25 !! Needless to say its now my most treasured golf prize :D

The only trophy I've ever won was when I was a junior. It was called The "Jarrovian Shield". It was a large shield emblazoned with a Golden Eagle. It wasn't until you looked more closely that you realised it was a black toilet seat, with the eagle painted onto the lid.

I won a nearest the pin on a 225 yard par 3 and the prize was £250 to spend in a Jewellers in Inverness, trouble was the cheapest thing in there was £300, the current Mrs 148 still wasn't happy with it either
