It started spitting here at around 12ish, but it stopped and has been dry since. It feels a lot colder than the last few days.

If it stays dry, then I'm out tonight for 12 holes at least.

Anyone else out for a knock around this evening ?

its dry today definatly cooler and not as bright but not bad - I went to the course last night at 8.15 and managed to play 18 before dark summer is fantastic

same here - cloudy and a bit colder than the past few days. Spitting for about 15 mins earlier on but dry otherwise

Just starting raining and forecast not to stop for the majority of the weekend.......bloody club champs on Sunday too!!

You started at 8.15 ? Crikey, how quickly do you play ?

I'm planning on starting around 6.30, finish about 8.00, should easily get to play 11 holes. (I'll play 2 balls around the course for a bit of practice).

Does anyone else play extra balls ? Sometimes, when I'm playing solo ( not a euphemism ) and I have say a 60 yads pitch to the green, I'll drop 3 extra balls by my scoring ball, and hit them all to see how close I can get them. In a way not to cheat myself, I hit my scoring ball first, then the practice ones.

Also, I only do ever this if I'm definitely not going to hold anyone else up.

Gus - when you get to play your approach shot play 2 balls. With one of them atacck the pin and try to get close. With the other go for the middle of the green.

I'd be surprised if the middle of the green ball didn't score better!!

Yep - it's been great all week and but the wind is picking up and it seems to be deteriorating at the weekend.

Just what you don't need after a week stuck in a non-air-conditioned office staring out the window wishing I was playing golf. :(

Sorry lads , should have said something earlier....i've got my monthly society game tomorrow at Fynn Valley near Ipswich so expect it to get even wetter , colder and maybe even snow !!!

Been showery on and off all afternoon and then brightened up about 5 and been dry since. Much cooler. Playing at 3 tomorrow and forecast is for dry start but expecting to get damp by the turn and intermittant showers on the back 9.

Centenery medal on Sunday and looks like waterporrofs are the order of the day throughout plus extra gloves and towels.

Rained most of the day here. Dry now but rain overnight predicted and then rain of Biblical proportions all day Sunday.
Good job I'm not playing till Monday!!!!!

its been raining on and off all day but not really heavy, but its just started to get heavy.

playing at 9:50 on sat and its meant to rain all day :( looks like it will be waterproofs

Disaster today. Horrible. Supposed to be playing at 4:30 but think the fair weather players will not be making an apperance.

Looks like an afternoon on the range.

Terrible night last night, the heavens opened and down it came.
Today.......... competition cancelled, course closed due to flooding/waterlogged.

You just can't beat the British summer can you?

Was due to play at 3 but very heavy drizzle and the boys didn't fancy it. To be fair not too disappointed as its a monthly medal tomorrow and so didn't have to worry about getting everything dry in time.

Was going to go to the range instead but fell asleep in front of the footie so my first Saturday that I haven't hit a ball at all for ages (can't remember the last time!)
