Took my daughter for a quick 9 holes after work tonight and lost 4 balls off the second tee before finally giving in. There was not even any water involved.

The first two were pulled into thick gorse, the third went over the gorse out of bounds and the fourth went through trees onto the practice ground. Despite the urge not to be beaten it was time to walk on to the next hole with my daughters sniggers ringing in my ears.

Surely someone can top that.

I've lost 6 during a round once, but a friend of mine hit 12 straight into the water one after the other, he had to borrow one of my balls which he finally got in play

3 on our 16th today. Topped first into the water and sliced the other two and was so fed up I didn't even bother to look for them! I blame it on the fact I slipped and fell on my bottom on the bridge on the 15th. I was still smarting from that and not a litte shaken up!

That makes my five off the tee on a par three today also with no water not sound so bad now.

For 16 of todays holes i was 6 over par, just a shame i was 8 over par for the other two.

Managed to be playing five off the tee on a 178 yard par three not so long ago. That tee shot only went forward and not straight right like the first two as I just gave it a monumental yahoo. Lovely 8 in a medal

About 5 on one hole last weekend... But they where crap pick up balls so I had some fun practicing pitching into a lake on one of the PGA's holes :whoo:

I'm not sure what my real answer would be TBH

I lost 3 off the first tee a few years back. So playing 5 off the tee on a par 4 with a handicap of 5 was a bit of a downer.

Lost balls brings back a golf story of yesteryear.

Older golfers on here may remember Gary Player giving Bernard Gallacher a club grip with finger positions to amend his set up when Bernard was starting his wonderful career.

Bernard, sponsored by Uniroyal golf balls(a name from the past) - played down to the practise area with us carrying a huge bag of balls, so that he could try out this new fangled offering.

He appeared over the ridge at the 18th tee having lost all the balls and had to borrow a ball to play in with us (the practise area had a pond along side it)

Lovely memory about a lovely guy.

Worst I ever did was our summer meeting. Was due to play with my dad but he did his back in.........but he agreed to walk round and mark my card.
Stood on the first tea and creamed a drive (lovely draw) straight out the park. The next two followed and I walked off. So pissed off.

I remember a round a few years ago not long after I started. Long par 5, tee shot over a lake and oob down the right. I must have put about 8 or so either into the drink or oob. I wasn't going to be beaten! Good job one made it to the other side as I was running out of ammo!

My 'largest loss' is 4 into the water on the 18th of The Shire once - a misjudged lay-up and 3 'perfect' 52* wedges! The eventual PW onto the green was naturally past the hole and miraculously avoided the 'normal' (for the situation) 3-putt! 39 points, but not my best 'Medal' score!

4 doing a stupid 'Tin Cup' moment for my approach shot into the 7th green over water

Will never repeat that mistake <insert lesson learned smiley>

last year, I snap hooked, then sliced one trying not to repeat the same swing and had to march back and play5 off the tee. ran up an 11 on the par 5. made buffer that day though.

4, all shanked out of bounds into somebody's private garden, surrounded by a high fence. About the only time I have ever N/R'd in a medal! :(

My worst was 3 shanked pitching wedges in a row off the tee on a short par 3. Straight into thick bushes on the right hand side.
It was the 15th and my score was toast anyway, so I NR'd the hole.
