So last week I had man flu (shouldn't have played in the swindle but did)... My sinuses were really affecting my balance to such an extent that it was all I could do to not have an air shot....

...long story short, I scored 8 on the front 9 and 8 on the back.....16.....my lowest score ever!

This week we were on temps so shorter course, but I could do no wrong...hit every single fairway, distance control spot on, putted well.....22 points out and 22 back....44 points.

A difference of 28 points from one round to the next?

Anyone beat that or got a similar experience?

Far back in the mists of time I won Captain's Day on the Saturday with 39 points.
Went out in the roll-up next day and did very well to come off with 20........
Not a classy as you Rick.......but not a bad effort I think!

Couple of months back played in our roll up group on a Tuesday shot 16 points had a little tip/tweak off the pro Wednesday and Thursdays roll up scored 42 points. Funny old game.

Can normally chuck the rubbish round in with consumate ease. It's the other end of the scale I've struggled with. From memory, 21 points in the normal roll up and then 38 in the monthly stableford. Nothing epic

44 points on the Saturday, 24 points on the Sunday - thankfully the Saturday was a comp, and the Sunday was a friendly knock.

I went 88-76 on consecutive days in the club championship qualifiers a couple of years back.

Rotten weather first day, coupled with rotten golf - if it was possible for me to make a mistake that say, I made one. Second day was average weather but I hardly put a foot wrong. Just shows the value of thinking properly on the golf course.

one that stick in my mind would be the county champs a couple of years ago, the morning round at my home course i shot 75 to be leading.... I acually hit the ball better in the afternoon around Nairn Dunbar and i don't think i missed a green or fairway. My putting went south big time. it wasn't helped by the greens going to seed and slowed the greens to an almost standstill. i birdied the first two holes but then 3 and 4 putted the rest to shoot in the high 80's and came nowhere in the comp:(

varied between points & strokes but .. cpl of years a go

42pts on Sunday CSS woulda bn 38 so 4 better
40pts on the Tuesday CSS woulda bn 38 so 2 better

Bringing great form into captains prize the following Sunday , or so u would think !

92 strokes , 20 over par , worst round ive ever carded par & CSS 72 so still 20 worse

Did a Kaymer in a 36 hole scratch trophy.

70 round one and leading, 4 holes into the second round and still level par then bogied every single effing hole from then on to shoot 84. It became comical after the first 6 bogies as to how I could keep getting bogie, even from the fairway or a GIR

I had my best of 82 one Sunday in a medal then had 105 on the following Tuesday in the weekly oom.

I was feeling great before I teed off on the Tuesday aswell:whistle:

79 Saturday , 92 Sunday , same course , conditions and pin positions which leads me on to my question ......do we as amateurs ever really have form ?? I'm not sure that we do. I've rolled out of bed thinking i'm going to do well having had some excellent practice sessions and then have absolutely **** the bed on the course. Flipping it , i've been to the range before a round , couldn't hit a cows backside with a banjo, and shot 4 under nett.

Not exactly one round to the next, but playing a medal at Dunbar last year, par 71 css 72. I was ready to go home after a first 9 of 44. Started the back 9 with two bogies then I flicked a switch. I don't know how I done it but I came back in 34 shots, par, for a 78 gross and buffer.
