Hopefully you more experienced golfers can advise on a confusing matter I had friday night.
Playing a friendly practice round with a work colleague, I was noting scores while we were playing match play (I won 4&2) I won the game on the 16th par 3 with a monster 30ft putt down hill straight in for birdie.
My question is, for my own purpose in keeping my own score, I was playing off 24 and the 16th is SI 4. So 2 shots for me?
In terms of strokes and my score, is it right to think I scored gross 2, net 0? How does it work?
Also I am aware that we were playing matchplay, and my colleague was giving me 12 shots, so I know for matchplay I only gained 1 shot on him on this hole, which I won!
