i've been playing golf for 3 months. durring a lesson i was constantly leaving the face of the club open and hitting my shots right. the next day, COMPLETE oposite. the strange thing is that it doesn't feel like i'm doing anything different.

went to the range today. would you believe it, their going right again. if the club didn't cost 200 quid it would have been over my knee by now.

any idea's or am i on my here?

if you're swinging the same and setting up with the same posture each time then it could very well be your grip. the grip should be consistent with each shot played, just as with any other part of the swing...

could be wrong though

Im sure you will get allot of feedback from some great golfers here but the 1st thing i can think of is your grip. what has your pro shown you so far and how many lessons have you had in your 3 months?

Took me 20 years to get to 10, then another 10 years to get to to 5, then 5 years to get to avergae (official) 4 ! probably never get to sratch as too lazy!

Just enjoy the game and listen to the Pro...

You want consistency after 3 months? You're playing the wrong game mate.

I concur. That is all.

Sad but very true, but thats not to say dont work at it, I worked my ass off this year and moved from 28-19. most of that happend in 6 months because it took me 6 months to digest the first 6 lessons i had. If you want it its there, but its not going to be fast for monst of us.

Practice, practice, practice only way u will get better..no short cuts!driving is the hardest part of the game aswell even the pros struggle on bad days!

cheers for all your help so far guy's. i must admit, i am impatient and like to see results fast. why did i take up golf! :D

Mate, i'm afraid to say you've got a lot more years of that ahead of you. Keep listening to the pro and working at it is all I can say but even then, don't expect perfection, it isn't out there.

It might be worth having a chat with your pro and seeing what he says. Alternatively if you feel really brave you could always put a video up on here and I'm sure Bob and other low figure players will be able to give you a few pointers
