So i play the Course around 3 times a week and have a hour practice before on the practice area just 9 iron, chipping etc... as there isn't a lot of room for longer irons, anyway had another lesson today and before this i was hitting quite well tbh even tho probably not correctly, anyway after the recent lesson i couldn't hit a thing and really struggled which gets me thinking should i stop lessons or just have 1 a month or something and what is a good balance to benefit from the lessons should i go range 3 times and course 3 times a week or what I'm really not sure.

Lessons can overwhelm your brain if the teacher gives you too much to work on, or if you wish things and try too much outside of your skill level. If I had my time again I'd concentrate on quality of strike, not distance, and would practice on wedges a lot more than on driver. As said above, just enjoy your rounds and keep the practice element to the range

I was SI 34 in April/May whilst having lessons. 4 weeks after my last lesson I worked on my own game at the range and my handicap started to drop. The 110 rounds became 105 and now I am hitting under 100.
I think lessons helped me but playing rounds and lessons didn’t work for me. I think I will have specialist 1 hour lessons ad hoc in the winter and work on my game iPad the range.
