Not meaning to be rude but don't make the mistake that many beginners do who think that they are better than their handicap suggests. If you are 20 handicap that is that. When you can play a competitive rounds to 14 handicap you will be 14 handicap [or thereabouts]
Apart from that, well done good start 18 to 20 handicap in your first year is pretty good.
